Reading in your brand guidelines
Give ANVL your brand guidelines or your website — at setup or later — and choose what it fills in.
Your brand guidelines — a PDF or a Word file — can fill most of your brand kit: named colours, allowed colour pairs, typography, logo rules, spacing, photo style, tone and channel rules. Your website can fill a good part of it too. ANVL reads either one in two places.
- At setup
Upload brand guidelines below the field in the setup conversation, or give your web address. See Give ANVL your brand.
- Later, on the Brand page
Read in website or brand guide at the top of the page. Choose Website and type the address, or Brand guide and choose the file (PDF or Word, at most 40 MB).
Nothing is saved until you choose
Reading can take up to two minutes. ANVL reads the text first, then the logos and illustrations on the guide's pages, and then shows what would change, one section at a time:
- New
A section your brand kit does not have yet. It is ticked from the start.
- Already filled in
A section you already have. It is not ticked — tick it if the guidelines or the site should replace what is there.
- Adds what is missing
Colour rules from a brand guide. The rules you already have stay, and the guide adds the kinds of rules you lack. Tick Replace to let the guide's version apply instead.
Press Use 3 selected — the number is however many you ticked — and only those sections are saved. The previous version of your brand is kept in History, so a reading you regret is one step back.
Reading costs 1 credit. The same file or address read in during the last 24 hours is free.
Images from the guide
Illustrations and photos from a brand guide go to Images as drafts, in the folder Grafisk profil. Images found on a website arrive as drafts too. A draft is not used until you approve it.
