Groups

A group is a name for a set of people. It exists so that sending something for review is one choice instead of six.

It is an address rather than a role — being in a group does not change what somebody may do elsewhere in ANVL. It does decide one thing, though: sending a review to a group is what puts those people in a position to answer it. So who is in a group is worth keeping accurate.

What to make groups out of

The sets you actually send to. Legal, The Nordics, Anyone who has to see customer-facing decks. If you find yourself ticking the same four names twice in a week, that is a group.

What not to do is mirror your org chart. A group nobody sends to is a group somebody has to maintain.

Using one

When you send something for review, pick a group instead of individual people. Everyone in it gets the request. See Send something for review.

Keeping them honest

Groups drift — someone changes team, someone leaves. The cost of a stale group is that a review sits in the queue of a person who no longer cares about it, which is a slow and quiet way for approvals to stop happening.
